Cody Rhodes is set to appear on NXT this week. WWE confirmed it by taking it to their social media handles. The American Nightmare had posted a tweet on X before the NXT Battleground saying he is looking forward for the PLE. In particular, he was excited for a couple of matches that featured some of the wrestlers he has a history with.
Cody claimed it to be interesting to see his former mate Ethan Page. After the main event of the night, Trick Williams still remained the champion. But Page delivered a good performance on his first match in WWE. It is worth noting that Page and Rhodes know each other well from their days in AEW. The duo crossed paths and had some brief moments with each other.
It seems likely that the World Champion would be in the development brand to see his old friend. It is not the first instance of him appearing on NXT in a special case. Last year he did the same along with the likes of John Cena, Paul Heyman, and The Undertaker who were all in the arena to encourage the upcoming stars of the company on a show.
Backstage on Raw, Ludwig Kaiser cut an intense promo against Sheamus. After claiming a win over the Celtic Warrior on Raw last week, Kaiser said that everyone that aim to go against him get eliminated. Ludwig said that he was not a mere mouth piece of Gunther but much more than that. Kaiser noted down the opponents he took out in the last few weeks.
Kaiser claimed that he took out Kofi Kingston who tried to stick his nose to the Imperium's business. He added that as Giovanni Vinci was a weak tag team partner, he was eliminated too. Kaiser said that as Sheamus tried to teach him a lesson, the former World Champion was eliminated too. The two will be up against each other next week for the Money in the Bank qualifiers.
