Cody Rhodes teases more crossovers as Trick Williams' NXT title challenger is revealed

The Undisputed WWE Champion made a visit on tonight's NXT, and nobody knew what to expect from him. Rhodes entered the ring and chatted to the audience for a brief moment before NXT Champion Trick Williams joined him. Williams then asked Rhodes a few questions about keeping the fire going after successfully ascending a mountain you've fought so hard for, and Rhodes hinted at a future match for Williams for a specific Undisputed WWE Title.

Cody Rhodes also disclosed that Williams' next title opponent would be selected by a 25-man Battle Royal next week, and he teased that they will not be from the same locker room as Williams. Rhodes was greeted warmly by the NXT fans, and he went on to discuss the task that awaits him this Sunday when he faces AJ Styles.

Trick Williams joined Rhodes in the ring

"Isn't it magical here?" It's commonly known that there's magic about NXT, and maybe I needed to be here today. Perhaps I wanted to feel that magic as I travel to Scotland for Clash at the Castle and a Championship defence against AJ Styles," Rhodes remarked. "AJ Styles has been many things. He was the IWGP champion. He was the NWA Champion. He was the WWE Champion, and one thing you can add to that list is that AJ Styles would look all of Scotland, the referee, and me in the eyes and declare, "I quit!"

Trick Williams then came out and pumped up the fans by joining Rhodes in the ring. After getting the audience to cheer for Rhodes, Williams had some questions for Cody. "Now, Cody, I believe we've had comparable paths. I mean, with all due respect, you're at the top of your game, and I'm doing my thing as well, and we're both Champions, but I believe we had tremendous mountains to climb and chips on our shoulders to get here today," Williams stated.
