WWE SummerSlam is only a few weeks away, and it's evident that the company aims to keep it as the season's marquee event. Several high-profile stars are scheduled to appear, including Rhea Ripley, who will fight Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship, which she believes she never lost. The match card does not include CM Punk, who has been out injured since the Royal Rumble event in January.

CM Punk has stayed on television during his rehabilitation to advance his storylines, particularly with Drew McIntyre, but he has yet to be cleared to participate. When Punk underwent surgery, the timeframe for his WWE in-ring return was set for August, perfectly aligning with SummerSlam. Of course, that only occurs if everything goes as planned, and WWE appears to be hoping that it will as they prepare for his potential comeback bout. PWInsider reported this week that Punk was spotted in the Performance Centre in Orlando, training for his big comeback.

Cora Jade released a TikTok video of herself, Punk, and Roxanne Perez sitting on the side of a ring following what seemed to be a training session. Punk wore kneepads and wrestling boots in the video. TNA star Zachary Wentz tweeted a photo on social media showing himself with Punk at Ace Steel's wrestling school, which also included Perez, Steel, and his students

CM Punk returned in WWE Survivor Series

Since Punk's return at WWE Survivor Series, he and Drew McIntyre have been embroiled in a rivalry. In recent months, they have fought violently many times, and Punk has interfered in McIntyre's championship matches to prevent him from winning the WWE title once more. "The Scottish Warrior," who was "suspended" for his actions at Money in the Bank, which included threatening authorities, has only become more incensed as a result. Punk grew combative with McIntyre during the Premium Live Event, beating him with a steel chair many times, strangling him with a cord, and throwing punches.
