Bully felt that Cody and Gunther are bound to have a feud against each other in the future. He felt by that time, the Ring General would be built as an immovable object. The WWE Hall of Famer felt Cody will be the guy to beat Gunther.

"One day, Cody Rhodes is going to be face-to-face with Gunther... By the time we get there, Gunther will have been built up to a level where he will be the immovable object. He's going to be THAT guy. Cody is going to have doubts, and Cody is going to have a problem with Gunther," Ray said.
"John Cena will return at the right moment to remind Cody who he is," - Bully Ray
He further added that the story might also involve Cena who could potentially fire up Cody to take on Gunther. "One day, like a Force ghost, John Cena will return at the right moment to remind Cody who he is. In my world, that's what I see happening," Bully added.

Cody and Gunther have crossed paths against each other numerous times. Their only faceoff came at the Crown Jewel 2024 for the Crown Jewel Championship. The American Nightmare overcame the Imperium star to become the inaugural Crown Jewel Champion. Since then, only Cena has beaten Cody in a one-on-one match.
