All the results from Smackdown 31st May 2024 show

It was the final WWE Smackdown event for the month of May and the after-effects of the King and Queen of the Ring event. Most of the intrigue moved towards the next phase of the storytelling to see what would happen with the bloodline saga. 

Cody Rhodes who defeated Logan Paul is also looking for his next opponent. With the WWE Clash of the Castle event drawing nearer the action seems to be picking up in the blue brand of WWE with all the major stars. 

Here is everything that happened on the 31st May edition of WWE Smackdown 

Nia Jax opens the show 

The Queen of the Ring winner Nia Jax came out to the ring and spoke about winning the crown last weekend. She put the entire Women’s division on notice. She then name-dropped Bayley and wanted to challenge her for the title. WWE Women’s Smackdown Champion Bayley comes out but she is attacked by Chelsea Green and Piper Niven as the latter also stakes claim to the title. Nia Jax mentions it doesn’t concern her who the champion is as he will win the title. 

AJ Styles and Nick Aldis segment

Former WWE Champion AJ Styles met Smackdown GM Nick Aldis and told him that he wanted to speak about his future. Aldis was seen asking if he wants to discuss something to which Styles says he will do it in the ring. At the same time, the camera pans to DIY making their way for their match as Bayley pays a visit to the medical officer and Naomi comes in to ask about her well-being. 

Austin Theory vs Tommaso Ciampa 

The match was back and forth as both the wrestlers traded blows. Austin Theory got the offense in on Ciampa and the latter was seen struggling. Ciampa then got his 2nd wind and began to counter every move from Austin Theory. The match ended with a roll-up pin as Ciampa won the contest. 

Nick Aldis Backstage Segment with LA Knight 

It was a chaotic night at WWE Smackdown as Nick Aldis was confronted by LA Knight who called out Logan Paul and wanted a shot at his title. This is followed by Carmelo Hayes having a few words with LA Knight during his interview segment. 

Andrade takes on Apollo Crews 

It has been a welcome return to WWE for Andrade and the former NXT Superstar put on a great show as he defeated Appollo Crews in a great match. The fans were on their feet as Andrade picked up the win and was immediately confronted by the Legado De Fantasma

Paul Heyman and Kevin Owens meet in the ring 

The Wiseman of Bloodline Paul Heyman came to the ring when Kevin Owens spoke about the incident in the King of the Ring with Randy Orton. It was at this moment Heyman came out as there was a huge chant for Roman Reigns. Heyman also warns Owens about Solo Sikoa and says what Reigns did was to show Owens respect but Sikoa is different. After a long back and forth, Owens says that he doesn’t have any respect for the new bloodline. Just as Heyman is about to leave the ring the mic hits Owens on his chest and the latter gets angry. This brings out Solo Sikoa along with Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa. The Street Profits come out to aid Kevin Owens as the six men begin to fight. 

New Bloodline vs Street Profits

The match was fast-paced with both teams putting in a good show and keeping the fans on their feet. There were chants for Roman Reigns as the Solo Sikoa directed traffic. In the end, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa came out as winners. 

Bayley and Naomi take on Chelsea Green and Piper Niven

Bayley who was attacked by the Green and Niven duo wanted revenge and she found a partner in Naomi. The four women fought well but it was Piper Niven who was seen getting the better of the exchanges. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven won the match to leave the crowd in shock. 

AJ Styles nearly retires but ...

Former WWE Champion AJ Styles came out to the ring to talk to the fans. The veteran star was seen getting emotional about how he saw his son graduate and wondered about not being part of such moments. AJ Styles then invites Karl Anderson and Gallows and thanks them for their support. As he is set to exit the stage and in what looks like his retirement speech AJ Styles asks Cody Rhodes to join him. Cody Rhodes spoke glowingly about Styles as the pair had a firm hug. Just when the crowd was getting into this emotional moment Styles attacked Rhodes and gave him a style clash on the floor to leave the fans shocked as the show faded to black.
