John Cena recently opened up about his final run in WWE. The 16-time world champion was on the Pat McAfee Show ahead of the latest Monday Night Raw episode, where he talked about his fitness which could lead to his retirement. The legendary WWE Superstar claimed that he would retire from WWE before turning 50. However, there was also good news for fans.

The former world champion confirmed that he would have a final run in WWE before retiring from the company. John said that after finishing the shoot of three of his upcoming movies, he would be available for a full run in the WWE. That brings us to the discussion regarding his potential motive in the last run. There are three major possibilities that arise for the final run of Cena.

Here are the three possible runs for John Cena before he calls it in WWE:

3. Feud with Randy Orton

Randy Orton

John Cena and Randy Orton are known to be the greatest rivals in the 21st century. The two were involved in great storylines in the Ruthless Aggression Era and the PG Era. They fought for several world titles and once teamed up together for a cause. They have a rich history with each other and the fans would love to see them have a feud for one last time before Cena retires.

In a recent interview, Orton revealed about his dream match. He claimed that his potential dream match would be main-eventing with John for a world title in WrestleMania. Everyone wishes to see the two go at each other for one last time. Given the fact that Triple H cares for the opinions of the fans, one might not be surprised to see their feud reigniting in the days to come.

2. Intercontinental Championship

Sami Zayn recently won the Intercontinental Championship by ending the historic run of Gunther on Night One of WrestleMania XL. The match was brilliant and Sami upset the ring general to end the winning streak of 666 days. He will be up against Chad Gable on Monday Night Raw in the upcoming week to defend the title. The match can be good given the abilities of both wrestlers.

It is to be seen if Zayn can retain the title against Gable and hold on to it for a lot of days. But Cena might go for the Intercontinental title because he has never won it. The title is the only major prize that has denied Cena from becoming a Grand Slam champion. given that it is a mid-card title but is elevated to a great level by the previous champion Gunther, Cena might not mind going for it.

1. World Heavyweight Championship

John Cena

There is nothing like Cena holding the world title. Over the years, the Superstar has won the world title many a time. He is the world champion for a record 16 times, equalled only by the legendary Ric Flair. After beating AJ Styles for the world title in 2017, John has not been able to reclaim the belt. Fans wish to see him become the world champion for one last time and script history in the process.

It is arguable among the fans and experts if Cena deserves to win the title. But John has a good case for himself to compete for the world title. It is currently held by Damian Priest, who is set to face Jey Uso in the upcoming week. There is a good chance of Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and CM Punk going for the title. Whoever wins it, Cena would be happy to compete for the belt.
