The ATP and WTA to discuss a huge commercial merger that could benefit both organizations in the upcoming tours in the future. The assets are to be shared among the two organizations where the ATP would get 80% of the tour assets while WTA would get 20%. This will be one of the biggest moves in the game of tennis.
The ATP and WTA are some of the biggest organizations in the sport of tennis responsible for giving us great players and are responsible for most of the tournaments of the season. Though the two work in the same sport the two don't seem to work together which has led to the ATP getting more attraction than the WTA, gaining most of the assets during the tours. Though we do see the two sets of players in the masters, we still haven't seen the two work together for an entire season.

The vote on the commercial merger to take place
We all have been waiting for both organizations to work together and it looks like there are some efforts made towards it with the introduction of the commercial merger between the two organizations. The commercial merger plan is for both organizations to share assets during the tour where the ATP is set to settle for 80% and WTA with 20%. Though this might not be a 50-50 deal it is still something for the WTA scene to improve their revenue going in the future.

Though there is still no agreement between the parties regarding this merger it will be great to see the ATP share some assets with the WTA to make sure that not only men's but women's tennis prosper as well. This merger will be the next step towards the goal of getting both ATP and WTA as much respect and revenue and the players can enjoy the same privileges together. We are already seeing some great players in the WTA scene and we hope this can improve the situation going further.
