Serbian legend and 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic becomes another victim of the automated shot clock system as he gets a time violation during his fourth-round match against Roman Safiullin at the Shanghai Masters and enters the debate of this new rule change in the Asian tour that has caused a lot of problems for some of the big ATP stars.

The Automated shot clock has been one of the biggest infamous topics in the ATP scene with several players having a problem with it right now. It all started with Carlos Alcaraz who had a big altercation with an official over this issue as he suffered two time violations at the China Open. This topic became a big issue in the Shanghai Masters as well with Stefanos Tsitsipas being the latest victim in his last match against World number 5 Daniil Medvedev in the tournament.

Djokovic unhappy with the new rule

This automated shot clock system has continued to be a problem for a lot of the top stars and we have seen some big outbursts from the players. The most notable one was Frances Tiafoe who was unhappy and cursed at the umpire after the match. Novak Djokovic also had a huge altercation with the chair umpire during the match saying " I mean for four years we've had this situation where we can't get the towel, right? Ball kids are doing their best but they’re not being trained. Without even notifying any players, you start this new rule. I mean, it's incredible. Honestly."

There is no doubt that the 24-time Grand Slam winner and World number 4 has a huge problem with this rule and to see a player like him having a problem, it seems like the ATP has to take into account how much the players have been affected due to this issue. The players are already having a problem with the schedules and we hope this does not become a huge problem going forward as well.
