Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz suffered a crushing defeat against Novak Djokovic in the quarter-final game of the Australian Open 2025 at Rod Laver Arena of the Melbourne Park. The Spaniard had a great start to the game, winning the first set comfortably. However, the Serbian tennis icon took the medical time out, staged his comeback and won the next three sets of the game to knock Alcaraz out. After the defeat, Novak Djokovic received numerous accolades for his sensational performance against the 21-year-old tennis star.

In the same vein, Carlos Alcaraz breaks silence on his loss and states that facing Novak in the quarter-finals was one of the worst things for him in life. The star player acknowledged that the 24-time Grand Slam winner showcased his beast form in the thriller and deserves to win the game.

"I really wanted to win the tournament and felt I was able to but Novak played an unbelievable match. Facing Novak in the quarter-finals at a Grand Slam is the worst thing. It was a pretty good match. I have tried to take the good things about that match and will look ahead now," Carlos Alcaraz said.

Carlos Alcaraz gearing up for ABN AMRO Open 2025 in Rotterdam

Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz has been gearing up for ABN AMRO Open 2025 in Rotterdam after the conclusion of Australian Open 2025. The five-time Grand Slam winner is set to face Van de Zandschulp in his opening round of the game.

"He's a really tough player. I've played against him a few times already.Β  The last time I lost against him. I am now going to play him in his home. I will enjoy playing my first match here in Rotterdam and I will see how it goes. The crowd will probably be against me but I will enjoy it and do my best. I am here for the challenge and to get through," he added further.
