Who is Sofya Zhuk? - Wimbledon champion who quits tennis to open channel on adult platform regains attention on social media

There have been many sports stars whose careers have witnessed an unexpected turn of events that may have surprised many. Former Russian tennis star Sofya Zhuk's career has also taken a similar dramatic turn. From promising to be a future star of Russia to ruling the adult world - that's been 24-year-old Zhuk's journey so far.

A Wimbledon title is the career dream of any tennis player. Zhuk achieved this dream moment when she was 15 years old. She won the Wimbledon junior girls' title in 2015 without losing a single set in the entire tournament. The Moscow star, who competed as an unseeded, defeated fellow Russian and No. 12 ranked junior Anna Blinkova in straight sets.

Notably, she became only the second Russian girl to win the Wimbledon title since Vera Dushevina’s triumph over compatriot Maria Sharapova in the 2002 final. Despite showing great potential at a very young age, Zhuk could not live up to expectations due to a series of injuries.

She played for a few years following her Wimbledon success, but due to persistent back injuries, she announced her retirement in 2020 at just 20 years old. Her final professional match was at Wimbledon in 2019, where she lost in a first-round qualifier.

"My body needed rest," Zhuk told Bild while announcing her retirement.

"I was in so much trouble that even the doctors couldn't treat me. I don't normally digest protein, so the discs in my vertebrae were behaving like those of a 60-year-old. I always played in terrible pain, I loved tennis, but I had to think about my health,” she added.

Zhuk continues to win hearts through OnlyFans

Her career then took a big turn as she decided to open a channel on OnlyFans, an adult platform that allows people to share their photos and videos. It also features the work of other content creators, such as physical fitness experts and musicians.

"Guys, the moment you've all been waiting for is finally here! There will be a lot of interesting material," the former tennis star had posted on social media.  

It is reported that Zhuk also earns by renting out expensive cars and yachts. Although Zhuk turned into a model, she stated that she would never pose completely naked.
