The star player looks in great form in his last game. However, Jordan Thompson's injury in the quarters allowed him to make his semi-final appearance, but Dimitrov's injuries ruled him out of the showpiece event while their match in the quarterfinal and semi-final ended as a walkover in the 2025 Brisbane International.

A major setback for Grigor Dimitrov

Notably, this marks a big setback for Dimitrov, considering the 2025 Australian Open is around the corner, slated to take place from 12 January in Melbourne. The Bulgarian needs to address these injury issues ahead of the first Grand Slam of the 2025 season.

Meanwhile, the Bulgarian was ecstatic after he was set to make his sixth semifinal appearance in the showpiece event. The 33-year-old tennis star also spoke about Thompson, who got injured during the game. Dmitrov also talked about his serving point in the game, which has helped him pick up his pace after his first set in the game.

“I was just trying to focus on my game. Honestly, it's very, very unfortunate for him. I hope he’s ready for the Aussie Open. Not much to say; I just came out here to compete, to go through my motions on the court, and yeah, I think from the beginning I was in very good control of the match. I thought I was moving very well; serve was on point. All these things are giving me a lot of confidence. After that first break in the first set, I slowly started to pick my pace a little bit more. That’s the end result, unfortunately,” Grigor Dimitrov said.
