The growth of Women's Tennis has been a story to look forward to by every sports fan in the World. There have been a lot of legendary Women's tennis players who have made a huge impact on the game and we all have loved witnessing great rivalries as well. There are two names from the early 2000s that have given us some great matches during this era.

One of the greatest rivalries in Tennis was the one between Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova. These two were the leading women in the WTA scene who have been winning multiple Grand Slams in the process as well. The two have played each other 22 times where Williams held the lead in the wins, but there were a lot of legendary matches they were involved in. One of the most memorable moments was when 17-year-old Sharapova beat Williams at her peak to win the first-ever Grand Slam title of her career.

Serena dedicates a song to Sharapova

Though we have known players have shared a big rivalry on the court we have also seen them share some great banter off the court as well. This is exactly what Serena did when she dedicated a song to her former rival Maria Sharapova on stage titled 'She could be my Tennis Ball'. The song did not only bring us their feuds on the court but also some friendly banter by the 23-time Grand Slam winner. The song was already a hit among the audiences due to Serena's melodic voice, but there were some words in the song that were hilarious as well where there was some cheeky banter by the Americans.

The song ended with a phone call where it was most probably the Siberian Siren on the other side. Some fans also think it is another joke where Serena was playing on the jokes of Sharapova being unable to connect with her family on call. Overall this was a hilarious and great moment which told us a story of one of the biggest rivalries in Tennis that we all have enjoyed from the Early 2000's.
