Rafael Nadal lost to Carlos Alcaraz

For Rafael Nadal, who has declared that he will retire following the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga next month, this matchup is very significant. Over the past year, the 22-time Grand Slam winner has battled ailments, and 2024 will be his final season on the circuit. Following his 6-3, 6-3 loss against Carlos Alcaraz in the Six Kings Slam semifinal, Rafael Nadal thought about how fortunate he was to have such a long and successful career.

This competition represents the end of an era beyond the actual match. For almost 10 years, Djokovic's accuracy and Rafael Nadal's perseverance have influenced tennis. This exhibition contest honors two fighters who helped each other become the best; it's more than simply a goodbye. But every time someone asks Novak Djokovic he keeps saying that he is not at all considering the decision to retire.
