Rafael Nadal is not sure if he will play in the singles final of the Davis Cup. The Spanish player's incredible career will come to an end when he retires from professional tennis at the end of the prestigious tournament. When the 38-year-old Rafael Nadal was chosen for Spain's squad, there were concerns because he was not present at the 2024 Davis Cup finals.

Additionally, since 2019, when Spain won the Davis Cup and he was voted the tournament's MVP, the 22-time Grand Slam champion has not played for Spain. However, it was evident when Nadal told his supporters that he intended to retire following the Davis Cup on home grounds.

After losing to Carlos Alcaraz at the Six Kings Slam, Rafael Nadal made a statement to the media asking whether he would play singles at the Davis Cup. He is a fiercely competitive individual who will not compete if he does not believe he can win or make a valuable contribution to the team. To perform at his peak for his final event, Rafael Nadal went into further detail about this.

"If I am going to be ready for the Davis Cup. Emotionally I am sure I will be ready. In terms of physical and in terms of tennis level, it remains a month." "I am going to be preparing for that and I am going to be trying to be in good shape to help the team to win". " Be 100% sure, I will not be on the court if I don't feel ready to win my match." Rafael Nadal told reporters.

Rafael Nadal to pair with Carlos Alcaraz for Davis Cup doubles

Although Rafael Nadal made the news of his retirement in October, he had already made up his mind. Nadal was supposed to play in the US Open and Laver Cup, but he skipped both events during his most recent appearance at the July Olympics in Paris. Nadal stated that he would be available to assist the 21-year-old with any advice following his retirement and that he may still pair with Alcaraz in the Davis Cup doubles competition.
