This season of tennis has introduced us to many big stars in the game who surprised us with their performances. One of the players who has been one of the inspirational figures in the game of tennis right now is Chinese number one player Qinwen Zheng. It has been a great season for the player so far where she broke into the top 10 WTA rankings and made it to the Australian Open finals as well. However, winning a Gold medal in the Paris Olympics is where she completely stole the show for everyone.
Qinwen Zheng is no doubt one of the biggest upcoming young stars in the game right now and was up against another young talent in Amanda Anisimova in round one of the US Open. The Chinese prodigy started the game being one set down, but eventually got the better of Anisimova in the last two sets to get through to the next round of the Grand Slam event. This was another great performance where the World number 7 proved her worth once again on the big stage.
Zheng's unique return leaves everyone perplexed
We all have to remember that this was not the easiest game for the Olympic Gold medalist at all and there were Zheng had to make a great comeback in the second set. This was also the time when we saw one of the most outrageous and unique returns in the game. The serve from Amanda Anisimova looked quite powerful to return, but not only did Zheng return it but the ball literally had a lot of backspin in it that the ball literally bounced on Anisimova's area and spun back to Zheng's. This was one of the rarest points you would ever see in a game of tennis, especially during a Grand Slam match.

In a funny way, this might be one of the most iconic return winners we have seen in the tournament so and it is unbelievable how much backspin Zheng was able to generate on the ball. Overall these are one of the dramatic moments that confused everyone at the venue on how Zheng managed to win this point.
