Tennis star Ons Jabeur seems emotional in the ongoing Italian Open 2025. The Tunisian-born star has talked about facing the extreme backlash she received while helping civilians amidst the ongoing Israel-Palestine war. The 30-year-old star player also talked about the starvation people in the region are facing at this moment after storming into the Round of 32 in Rome.
April 25th, 2025, literally saw the UN World Food Programme announce they had run out of the food stocks in Gaza as a result of Israel blocking entry of humanitarian aid. Thereafter, the people in Gaza are dying due to starvation.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old tennis player has now stormed into the third round of the Italian Open 2025. Jabeur seems extremely disappointed and was in floods of tears when she highlighted how people are suffering amid war. The star player further affirmed that she has been receiving strong backlash from her fans after she showcased humanity by offering her support to Palestine.

"One of the guys [in Palestine] was asking, 'Are we human?’ To even ask that question means you are living in hell. I know the WFP are pushing to get food there even though a lot of workers got killed. They're doing voluntary work. It's a terrible world right now, and I don't know how people are thinking. It’s really affected me emotionally. I've been called a terrorist so many times. I don't know how that's even related. I'm trying to help people, and especially kids, who are starving," Ons Jabeur said.
