Tennis star Dominic Thiem has recently announced his decision to retire at the end of the season due to the injuries he sustained during the recent ATP tour. Notably, the 30-year-old star has struggled since 2020, when he defeated Alexander Zverev in the US Open final. Following that, he sustained the injuries, ruling him out of the Tennis court.

However, Theim has revealed that 2024 will be the last year of his career, and he is very excited about his future and looking forward to what comes next. Following the same, Novak Djokovic has paid tribute to Thiem. The star player has revealed that the Austrian has always shown great respect to him on the Tennis court and always takes the time to wish him well. However, the Serbian accepted that it was very difficult to make a comeback after the grave injuries.

Serbia's Novak Djokovic praised, saying the Austrian had "always shown respect on the court and always took the time to say hello. I really like Dominic. We all know how hard it is to come back (after an injury)."

Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev has also paid tribute to Thiem after reaching the third round of the Rome Open 2024. Zverev says that Theim has been one of the greatest champions in tennis history and has managed to beat the greatest players. He also wished him great luck for the future and was somewhat disappointed as he had lost one of his best friends on the court.

"He's one of the greatest champions we've had, he's one of the only guys who managed to beat the big three guys on their favourite surfaces, he was a powerhouse for his entire career and I wish him nothing but the best in the future. I'm losing one of my best friends on tour, that's the number one thing I'm losing personally," Zverev said.
