The qualifiers for the Cincinnati Open has already started and we are in for another great ATP/WTA 1000 tournament just before the iconic US Open in New York. This tournament will once again feature some top stars not only in the main draw but the qualifiers as well. It is safe to say that this tournament will feature some big players in the mix who will be looking forward to making a comeback this season.
One of the players we will be talking about is 4-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka. The Japanese player was once one of the top contenders in 2019 and was set to be one of the giants in the world of tennis. However, right now she has not really been in the best of form and is still struggling to win a title in her comeback season this year. She was set to play in Cincinnati where she was to play the qualifiers to get to the main draw.
Osaka crashes out in qualifiers
The beginning of the qualifiers saw Osaka in a tough match against Anna Blinkova, but she still manage to get a victory to get through to the next round. Unfortunately for the former World number one her luck completely ran out in the second match against Ashlyn Krueger. Osaka tried to comeback in the match after losing the first set but unfortunately it was Krueger who emerged victorious. this was another disappointing exit for Osaka, but this time she will not be featuring in the main draw of the tournament. This will also not give her confidence going into the upcoming US Open in New York where she has been a two-time champion as well.

This means that this will be another tournament where we will not be able to see Osaka get back to her dominant best at all. It has not been a great season for her so far where all she has done is shown glimpses of good tennis. Looking at her form right now it is safe to say that her poor season has still not come to an end and she will want to make a statement in the US Open going forward.
