The two WTA players last faced each other at the Indian Wells 2025 in California. The Russian defeated Iga Swiatek in the semi-finals to storm into the final. Later, she wins the title after toppling Aryna Sabalenka.

Mirra Andreeva was last seen in action in the Miami Open 2025. The Russian star suffered an early setback as she was out of the tournament after the second round of the WTA 1000 tournament after losing to Amanda Anisimova. However, the 17-year-old star player has won the Miami Open doubles alongside her partner Diana Shnaider.
On the other hand, Iga Swiatek showcased her beast form in Florida. However, the Poland star was stunned by Alexandra Eala in the quarter-finals. The 19-year-old tennis star has shattered the five-time Grand Slam winner's hopes of winning the Miami title. Swiatek defeated Elina Svitolina in the third round to storm into the quarters.

"It was much tougher to problem-solve, especially because Elina was also putting on some pressure. I needed to adjust, and I’m happy that I picked the right moments at the end to play more aggressively, and sometimes I was more patient," Swiatek said in her on-court interview.
