Jannik Sinner talks about the hardest days of his life
In a recent interview, he revealed that he was not at all in a happy place ahead of the first Grand Slam of the year and thought of quitting the game. Some of the players were supportive towards him, while many of them even questioned his right to compete after his doping test, with the player who later went on to win the title revealing that he was tempted to step away from this game ahead of the tournament.
“I remember before the Australian Open this year, I was at a not very happy place. In Australia, I didn't really feel comfortable in the locker room or at the restaurants; the players looked at me differently and I really didn't like it. There, I thought that living tennis that way was really heavy: I've always been someone who took tennis ‘jokingly’. I thought about taking some time off after Australia," Jannik Sinner said.
