The 23-year-old star player was seen indulging in a tight fight with the Ukrainian star, forcing the game into the tiebreaker set, but managed to win to take an early lead in the game. The five-time Grand Slam winner executed stunning shots that baffled the 30-year-old star to knock Svitolina out of the marquee event.

What next for Iga Swiatek in the Miami Open 2025?

The Polish star is now set to face Alexandra Eala in the quarterfinals. Notably, the 19-year-old sensation had defeated Madison Keys in the third round before toppling Jelena Ostapenko in the second round of the Miami showdown. She has been trained at the Rafa Nadal Academy since the age of 13 and must be looking to pose a big threat to the world number two.

The Polish star must be eager to win her first 1000 event of this year in Florida.

"It was much tougher to problem-solve, especially because Elina was also putting on some pressure. I needed to adjust, and I’m happy that I picked the right moments at the end to play more aggressively, and sometimes I was more patient," Swiatek said in her on-court interview.
