WATCH: Iga Swiatek crying after winning Bronze medal match in Paris Olympics 2024

There have been some great performances from many tennis players in the Paris Olympics 2024 and one of the players who has impressed is the Polish superstar and World number one Iga Swiatek, who continued her great form in the Olympics and was the clear favorite for everyone. Though she faced a disappointing defeat against Qinwen Zheng in the semi finals, she still did not end the tournament on a sad note.

Iga Swiatek still went on to give another incredible performance in her Bronze medal match against Anna Schmiedlova where she brutally defeated the Slovakian in straight sets. The Polish superstar still went on to take the Bronze medal and became the first Polish tennis player to win a medal in the Olympic games and also enter the histrory books. This is still a massive achievement for the young 5-time Grand Slam champion.

There is no doubt that this was still a great achievement for Iga Swiatek who could add this in her list of achievements, however the reaction from the Polish was slightly strange as she started crying even after winning an Olympic medal. What is even curious issue is also that it looked more like tears of disappointment than tears of joy as we didn't see her break into a smile at all. There are fans on social media who will also want answers to this reaction from the Polish star.

There could be a lot of reasons to this reactions since we all know that Swiatek was the favorite to win Gold as she was the top seeded player and was having one of her best seasons. The fact that this was also on a surface where she has dominated throughout her career will be an even bigger disappointment. There is no doubt that we saw Swiatek being the favorite to win Gold in this competition, but she should still not go out of this game with a reaction like that as she has still achieved something which some players can only dream of. It is still great to know that she might still have high expectations from herself and we hope we get to see a gold around her neck the next time as she still has a long way to go in her career.
