Former England cricketer Graeme Swann expressed his admiration for the legendary tennis player Roger Federer. The Swiss professional is one of the most loved tennis superstars in the world, thanks to his brilliant career spanning more than two decades.

Before hanging up his rackets in September 2022, Federer earned numerous accolades in the game, including 20 Grand Slam men's singles titles. He won 103 ATP singles titles, 28 ATP Masters, and six ATP Finals. The 43-year-old was also a gold medalist in men's doubles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and a silver medalist in singles at the 2012 London Olympics.

Swann describes Federer's game as 'poetry in motion'

During the ‘This or That’ session on Sportskeeda, Swann was asked which sportsperson from another sport he was in awe of. The former English spinner quickly replied without scratching his head - “Roger Federer”.

The 45-year-old compared the Swiss' backhand to legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar's on drive, former West Indies captain Brian Lara's hook shot and Australia great Shane Warne's leg spinner.

“Roger Federer’s backhand is like Sachin playing an on drive, Brian Lara playing a hook shot and Shane Warne bowling a massive leg spinner. All rolled into one. Poetry in motion,” Swann said.
