WATCH: Coco Gauff gets the better of Svitolina in tough 3-set match during 3rd round of US Open

There have been many young prodigies who have impressed us in the game of tennis, but the player who has been everyone's favorite right now is Coco Gauff. The American number one has been impressing us with her game and has been having a great US Open so far, where she has already got two straight victories to her name already and has her sights on her second Grand Slam title.

Though she has started the tournament well Coco Gauff was still up against a competitive opponent in Elina Svitolina in the 3rd round. This was the game that was going to test her patience knowing Svitolina and her experience. This was also the first time these two players were facing each other and it was going to be interesting to see on who will be victorious on the day with two top players in the mix.

Gauff keeps title defense alive

We all know that Elina Svitolina is one of the most talented Ukrainian players right now, but Gauff who was playing at her home ground was still the player who was the favorite to win this match. However, the first set surprised everyone and we all saw Gauff losing her first set in the entire tournament by a score of 6-3 and was put under pressure. Despite a scare in the first set, the World number 3 still came back in the second set and makes an incredible comeback in the match. The 3rd set was do or die and in the end it was the American who came out victorious and keeps her chances alive.

This was one of the games Gauff was tested and it is safe to say that she passed it with flying colours. This was another incredible performance from the World number 2 where she came back well after being a set down early on. She has now kept her title chances alive and she will be looking forward to continuing her winning streak in the Grand Slam event.
