Carlos Alcaraz stormed into the pre-quarterfinals of Indian Wells 2025

Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz defeated Denis Shapovalov by 6-2, 6-4 in the third round of the Indian Wells 2025, which took place on March 11, Tuesday. The world number three had a great start to the game, having dominated the first set completely to gain a massive lead.

However, the Canadian star staged his comeback in the second set of the game, but the Spaniard kept his resilience and delivered a strong performance to mark the straight-set win to storm into the pre-quarterfinals, slated to take place on March 13.

He might face a big challenge in the next clash as the 21-year-old tennis star is set to face Grigor Dimitrov in Round 16, who recently thwarted legendary player Gael Monfils in the third round.

"I know he started the season really strong, showing really good tennis with the title in Dallas, playing good tennis in Acapulco, so I knew that I had to start the match really strong, really focused on my things, on the level. Try to play good tennis and good rallies at the beginning just to get the good pace, to come into the match. I saw that it was going to be a really good and difficult battle, so just really happy with the way that I started the match," Alcaraz said in his on-court interview.
