Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz defeated Denis Shapovalov by 6-2, 6-4 in the third round of the Indian Wells 2025, which took place on March 11, Tuesday. The world number three had a great start to the game as he dominated the first set completely to gain a massive lead.
However, the Canadian star staged his comeback in the second set of the game, but the Spaniard kept his resilience and delivered a strong performance to mark a win in straight sets to storm into the pre quarter-finals, slated to take place on March 13.

The Spaniard's performances were highlighted by an insane shot against Denis in the thriller, showcasing his style of play and shot-making ability in the crunch moments of the game.
Alcaraz's insane shots, exhausted Denis with incredible points, including forehand and backhand volley shots. Denis was baffled in the game, which made him lose his rhythm and allowed the four-time Grand Slam winner to control his pace to dominate against the Canadian star.

Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz lavished huge praise on Denis Shapovalov after the Canadian was knocked out from the ATP 1000 Masters. Alcaraz talked about Denis' performance in the Dallas Open and the Mexican Open.
"I know he started the season really strong, showing really good tennis with the title in Dallas, playing good tennis in Acapulco, so I knew that I had to start the match really strong, really focused on my things, on the level. Try to play good tennis, good rallies at the beginning just to get the good pace, to come into the match. I saw that it was going to be a really good and difficult battle, so just really happy with the way that I started the match," Alcaraz said in his on-court interview.
