WATCH: Carlos Alcaraz qualifies for quarter finals beating Ugo Humbert in 4-set game

Carlos Alcaraz gets through to the quarter finals by beating Ugo Humbert in the fourth round of Wimbledon 2024. The Spaniard's title defense continues.

Wimbledon 2024 has been a great season so far and we have already seen some great games in this edition which we have enjoyed witnessing. It is now time for round 4 of the tournament and we are yet to see some more iconic games coming up. There are still a lot of great players who are still alive in the Grand Slam event and are no doubt also favorites to win the tournament.

The match between Carlos Alcaraz and Ugo Humbert was a match to watch out for as the Frenchman had played some great tennis before reaching the fourth round. There is no doubt that Humbert was a talented player, but he was still up against the defending champion and World number 3 player. This is a game that was already looking like a match for the Spaniard to win at all costs.

Alcaraz wins in 4-set game

There is no doubt that Alcaraz had started this match in great fashion by winning the first two sets convincingly with scores of 6-3 and 6-4. Everyone might have though that this was another straight set victory for the Roland Garros winner, but he was caught by surprise by Humbert as he took the third set by a score of 6-1 putting a little pressure on Alcaraz. However, Alcaraz once again delivered under pressure by winning the 4th set 7-5 and make sure he made it into the quarter finals once again for the second time.

This keeps Alcaraz's title defense alive and he is still up for another Wimbledon win this season. Alcaraz has proven that he can perform under pressure once again and this has been another great performance by him. There are only three more wins to go and there is no doubt that Alcaraz will continue to be the favorite if he keeps on winning in this Grand Slam event.
