The Men's singles event is in the playoffs stage as well and there are some great players among the last eight players in the tournament. One of the players we all have been looking forward to seeing is Carlos Alcaraz, who has been one of the favourites in this contest. The Spaniard is yet to lose a set in this entire competition and is currently making the most out of his Olympic debut this season.

Carlos Alcaraz was set to play his quarter-final match against American number 2 Tommy Paul, who has also been playing some great tennis this season. There is also a great rivalry between the two where Alcaraz is just about holding the lead by 3-2 in the last 5 matches they have played against each other. This might be one of the toughest matches of Alcaraz in the Olympics and he had to bring his A-game.

Carlos' Gold hunt continues

The first set is where we saw the World number 2 lead the game as he went on to win the first set by a margin of 6-3 getting an early lead in the game against the American. The Spaniard was just one more set away from getting to his first Olympic semi-finals. The second set turned out to be a brutal battle where both the players were making some great comebacks from each player and went down a tiebreaker. In the end, it was another straight victory for Carlos who will be featuring in his first Olympic semi-final.

This was another match where Carlos came out of nowhere and kept himself alive in the contest. Carlos Alcaraz is just one win away from securing a medal and two wins away from getting the Gold medal in the Paris Olympics. This has been a great season for him and we hope he will continue his great form in the next few games as well in this competition.
