Notably, this marks his second time in the Monte Carlo Masters. The first time was when Sebastian Korda thwarted him in the second round back in 2022. The star player will be looking to win the tournament in the absence of world number one Jannik Sinner, who has been facing a ban.

The star player has started preparing for the clay season. The forthcoming prestigious tournament is set to kick off in the next week, and Alcaraz has an exceptional record when it comes to clay surfaces. The world number three has eight ATP titles on the clay surface.

The Spain-born star heads to this tournament after a disappointing Miami Open 2025 season. The four-time Grand Slam winner suffered an exit in his first-round game against David Goffin, making it a tough loss to exit from the ATP 1000 tournament.

Carlos Alcaraz reflected on Miami Open 2025 loss

Carlos Alcaraz revealed that it was time for him to prepare for the hard-court Florida match and to analyse the things that went wrong after his early exit from Miami. The star player admitted that he was mentally disappointed after suffering an early setback with his horrendous show in Miami.

"I don't yet know how the next few days will be for me; there will be time to analyse what happened and also to forget it. I know this part of the season very well. Mentally, I'm disappointed, honestly; this is a tournament where I want to do well, and losing in the first round hurts a lot," Carlos Alcaraz said.
