Alcaraz secures a straight victory

To be fair this was not the most comfortable victory for the 3-time Grand Slam champion as he had to go through a tiebreaker in the first set, which he eventually won and took control of the game. The second set also saw Lajal give the Spaniard a scare as he broke his service early on, but Alcaraz still came back and won the second set 7-5. In the next set, we saw the real class of Carlos as he completely dominated the Lajal winning the game 6-2 and getting through to round 2 of the Grand Slam event.

This was still a brilliant straight victory for Alacaraz and he will be happy that he got through to this round. It was still great to see the young Lajal give a bit of a fight, but in the end, he had to bow down to one of the best players in the tournament. This was a great start to Alcaraz's title defense and he will be looking to take one game at a time and make sure defends his Wimbledon title.
