It is down to the semi-finals of the Paris Olympics 2024 singles event and there are plenty of great matches in line for us in the men's. The biggest star of this contest has been none other than Carlos Alcaraz who is still yet to lose a set in this contest. The World number 3 is the clear favourite to win gold in the men's singles event and he has been looking good in every match he has played so far it will not be surprising to see him play another final and win a medal for his nation.
In the semi-finals, Carlos Alcaraz was up against Canadian surprise package Felix Auger- Aliassime who has created a few upsets in this tournament beating Casper Ruud and Daniil Medvedev in this contest. However, this time the Canadian was up against one of the most consistent performers in the contest, Carlos Alcaraz, and this was going to be another tough game for both players.
Alcaraz to play for Gold
There is no doubt that Alcaraz was always going to be a tough competitor for Felix and he had proved it in the first set itself winning it by a margin of 6-1 and putting pressure on the Canadian straight away. The second set was another challenging game for the Canadian as Alcaraz kept on dominating him throughout the game which ended up being another 6-1 victory for the 4-time Grand Slam champion who will be playing his first Olympics finals and is the youngest male player to achieve this feat as well.
