Carlos-Shelton's hilarious encounter 

The match delivered a truly unforgettable moment that had the crowd roaring with laughter. In a pivotal rally, the Spaniard skillfully forced the American to rush to the net, stretching his entire body and ending up on the ground to make the return. Although, Shelton managed to reach the ball, Alcaraz effortlessly placed an easy volley over the net, leaving it unreturned.

The commentators and the crowd immediately voiced their concern for the 22-year-old, prompting the Spaniard to charge in with a big smile. In a surprising twist, instead of helping, Carlos Alcaraz playfully mocked beating Ben Shelton, eliciting uproarious laughter from everyone present.

The American rose immediately while sharing a laugh and a low-five with the Spaniard. Alcaraz made a strong comeback after losing the first set, decisively claiming the Garden Cup with a score of 4-6, 6-2, 1-0.

After the match, Ben Shelton openly commended the Spainard for his distinct and innovative play style.

“Favorite player to share the court with because of how creative he is and the style he plays. Every time we play, you hear the crowd go crazy on both sides (…). It’s one of the games I enjoy the most,” added Ben Shelton.
