WATCH: Aryna Sabalenka defeats World number one Iga Swiatek to make it to Cincinnati Open final

Aryna Sabalenka beats World number one Iga Swiatek in straight sets to make it to her first ever Cincinnati Open finals. The Belarusian aiming for her first title after injury.

The semi finals of the Cincinnati Open have finally begun and we all will be looking forward to some big matches on the scene. The match which everyone was waiting for was between Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka. This was one of the moments where we see the top players in the game compete to get their hands on the WTA 1000 title after taking a bit of a break from the game.

The rivalry between Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka has been really intense and there was no doubt there were a lot of fans looking forward to it as well. This was one of the biggest WTA matches you could get this season and we were looking forward to a great battle between these two great players. This was a game that could also decide who will be on top going into the US Open this season.

Sabalenka beats Swiatek in straight sets

Though we all thought that Swiatek was the favorite to win this match, it was Aryna Sabalenka who came out on top in the game straight away winning the first set by a margin of 6-3 and getting ahead of the game straight away. This put the World number one under pressure straight away and there was a need of a comeback in the second set. Unfortunately for Swiatek there was no comeback in store as she falls short in the second set which eventually ends her campaign in Cincinnati campaign whereas Sabalenka makes it into the finals.

This might have been a rare one sided bout between these two players, but it was still great to see Sabalenka play some great tennis and it will be great to see her win another since the Australian Open. This is perhaps her best performance after coming back frim injury and now she will be playing her first ever Cincinnati Open finals and will be high in confidence after beating the World number one as well.
