WATCH: Alexander Zverev gets a straight victory over Tomas Machac to qualify for round 3 of Paris Olympics

There are plenty of upcoming stars in Tennis who are set to take the spot in the next big three. One of the players is German superstar Alexander Zverev, who is among the favourites to win a medal in the Paris Olympics 2024 as well. The German has already tasted the glory back in Tokyo when he beat Karen Khachanov to win the title back in 2020 Tokyo. This is an opportunity for Zverev to make it back-to-back Olympic Gold medals.

Alexander Zverev was up against Tomas Machac in his second-round game and has once again been in tremendous form this season as well, where he has convincingly won his first-round game and was also the favourite to win this game as well. We all know that Tomas Machac is not an easy opponent and has won over big players in the past as well, but This was still going to be a game where the German number one will be backed by the fans.

The first set belonged to Zverev completely as he led the contest with a 6-3 victory. This was a great start to the match where the German was once again showing his class on clay. The second set, however, saw the Czech Republic player comeback, but in the end, it was Zverev who got the better of him winning the second set by a score of 7-5 and going through to the third round of the event. This was another game where Zverev dominated most of the game and came out victorious in the end.

Zverev has once again shown why he is one of the highest-rated players in the game and this game against Machac proves why he is considered among the best. The German has once again impressed us in this event and he surely will be looking for that second Gold Medal in the Olympics.
