Tennis legend Novak Djokovic has crashed out of the ongoing Monte Carlo Masters 1000 tournament. The Serbian ace, who won the title in Monaco in 2013 and 2015, failed to win his third title here. Star player Alejandro Tabilo has defeated the 37-year-old legend with a scoreline of 6-3, 6-4 in the second round of the prestigious event, and stormed into the third round.

The Chilean star player had a great start to the game as he smacked breathtaking shots to baffle the Serbian ace in the opening set to take a lead in the game. The 27-year-old tennis star continued his dominating form in the second set, controlled his pace, and won many break points to thwart the legendary player from the marquee event.

Alejandro Tabilo has met Djokovic three times on the ATP tour, with the 27-year-old maintaining his 100% winning form against the 24-time Grand Slam winner. Djokovic, who has 99 ATP titles to his name, still bids to claim his 100th ATP title despite his opening-round loss in Monaco.

Tabilo was ecstatic after winning this clash. The star player was seen putting his arms on his head and then pointing to his head, showcasing his jubilant celebration after storming into the pre-quarterfinals of the Monte Carlo Masters. The Canadian-born star then shared a heartwarming embrace with the two-time Monaco champion before waving towards the crowd after the win.

Tabilo's reflected on his historic win

"It has been a tough year, so a little bit of the nerves were there. I remembered last time what I did well and thankfully I served well today and it helped me a lot. It was an unreal match," said Tabilo, who has now earned four Top 20 wins.
