Novak Djokovic's run in Shanghai has brought him closer to qualification in the ATP finals in Turin but has said that it is not one of his goals going forward. The Serbian legend opens up on his plans for the future and what he hopes to achieve going forward in the last few years of his career.
The 2024 season for Novak Djokovic has not been up to the standards where the Serbian legend has not gone on to win a single ATP title and only has an Olympic Gold medal to look back on.
However, the 37-year-old still had a great run in his last tournament where he played the finals of the Shanghai Masters against Jannik Sinner and played some great tennis as well. Though he did not win the tournament this has still given him a chance for qualifying for the ATP finals.

ATP finals are not the target for Djokernole
Novak Djokovic is a 7-time ATP final and though there are a lot of people competing for a place he still has a chance to make it in the tournament his statement last month proves that the tournament is not one of his targets going forward clearly stating, "Torino is not my goal at all, to be honest, I am not chasing ATP Finals, I am not chasing the rankings any more, As far as I am concerned, I am done with those tournaments for my career. Whether I will play in other tournaments this year or in the future, I can’t say right now."
This was not all as Djokernole also opened up about his future plans as well further adding to the statement, "My main priorities are playing for the national team and Slams, everything else is less important.” This makes it clear that the 24-time Grand Slam winner knows what he is doing and has made his plans for the future.
