Notably, young Alcaraz overcame a two-set lead to defeat his German opponent 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2. The World No. 2 player, however, has previously overcome hardship to win a match and the title.

Following the same, Jannik Sinner returned from the third set with a 6-3 victory. However, Carlos Alcaraz took the match to the fifth set and defeated him to make it to the final game.

Zverev fell serve at 5-4 in the fourth set following failing to close off the set on a break, marking the end of his Roland Garros career. But the German prevailed, prompting a tiebreak with a hold at 5-6, and he never looked back. However, he suffered a defeat in the final game against Alcaraz.

Like in his semifinal victory, Alcaraz overturned a 2-1 set to win the final match in five sets. The Spaniard took the first set with ease, but Zverev recovered well and appeared unbeatable in the second set, which he won 6-2. Zverev persisted and fought valiantly to win the third set 7–5.

Notably, Zverev was one set away from capturing his first grand slam, and Alcaraz was down 1-2. However, the 21-year-old made a great comeback and went on to win the title.

Novak Djokovic, even by his personal standards, produced a remarkable comeback against Argentinean Francisco Cerundolo in the round of 16. The Serbian was behind 6-1, 5-7, 3-6, and 2-4 after winning a hard-fought five sets in the opening set of the game. After taking a hit during the second set, he continued to feel pain in his right knee. Novak found himself losing 3–4 in the fifth set once more, but he made his experience count, winning the set 6-3 after taking a 5–3 lead. However, after this win, he was set to face Ruud in the quarterfinals, but he pulled out of the marquee event due to injuries.

World number one Iga Swiatek's hopes of winning the French Open for a record third time were about to come to an end as she faced Naomi Osaka. The opening set was won by the Polish World No. 1 7-6 in a tiebreaker (1). However, Osaka found her game and broke Iga's run of two straight serves. Meanwhile, Iga made a stunning comeback against the Japanese-born star and went on to win the title.
