Tennis is one of the most unpredictable games in the world. Though we like to see some upcoming talents win from the biggest stars in the game, we also like to see big matches between these top players. This is one of the reasons we watch the game to see our favourite players battle it out on the court. These are the matchups that make this one of the most-watched individual sports in the world right now.
The Italian Open gave us the chance of these epic matchups right now with the likes of Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka featuring in the WTA 1000 tournament. There is no doubt that these two are right now one of the top-ranked players in the world and have already won 7 grand slams between them. It was already interesting to see if these three talented players would make it to the playoffs together which has not happened since the 2013 French Open. There was no doubt that this was a dream which the fans had been waiting for 11 years.
The top three finally make it
This might not be the grand slam, but the Italian Open is still an iconic tournament and we were glad that the top three were in the tournament. In fact, it has turned out even better as the three have officially made it to the semi-finals. Iga Swiatek has been in great form in this tournament once again and is yet to lose a single set in the tournament, On the other hand, Coco Gauf and Sabalenka have had a couple of tough games, but have still performed well this season. All together they have made sure they remain favourites to win this tournament.
This has been a great tournament for all three of these great and world-class tennis players and we will be looking forward to seeing if one of them will get their hands on the title. While Gauff and Swiatek will battle for the spot in the final, Aryna Sabalenka will be up against either Danielle Collins or fellow Belarusian Victoria Azrenka. We are sure to get atleast one of these top ranked players in the final clash which will arguably be one of the biggest and most hyped game in the tournament. This is certainly what every fan has been waiting for more than a decade.
