Tennis star Madison Keys books the semifinal spot of the 2025 Australian Open after defeating Elina Svitolina 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the quarters at Rod Laver Arena of Melbourne Park on January 22. The American sensation might face world number two Iga Swiatek in the next round. Keys had an awful start to the game as she suffered a crushing defeat in the opening set against the 30-year-old Ukraine star. However, the 29-year-old tennis star showcases some forehand and backhand slice shots in the thriller alongside some brilliant groundstrokes to mark a victory in the second and third sets to book the semifinal spot.

Earlier, Keys delivered another blistering performance against Elena Rybakina to grab the quarterfinal spot here. Overcoming past defeats against the 26-year-old Kazakh star, Keys maintained control throughout the game and capitalized on Rybakina's back injury, showcasing her blistering display to grab the spot in the last eight rounds before defeating Svitolina.

Meanwhile, Madison Keys has expressed happiness after making it to the next round. The American star reveals that she tried extremely hard to be aggressive in the game. Keys also talked about where she got a little advantage over Svitolina in the game. The 29-year-old star feels proud and excited to play another semifinal in Melbourne.

"I kind of just had to start playing a little bit more aggressive and try to get to the net a bit quicker. She was controlling a lot of the points and making me run so I felt like I needed to try and get on the advantage a little bit quicker and luckily I was able to do that. To be here 10 years later in the semi-finals again, I'm really proud of myself and really excited to play another semi-final here in Melbourne," Keys said post-match.
