At the end of the tennis matches, it is customary that the winner shares a few words in the on-court interview and signs the camera in the 2025 Australian Open. However, January 19 showcased that legendary player Novak Djokovic refused to give an interview after a terrific win in round four, leaving fans and pundits baffled on the court.

Later, though, the Serbian ace explained his decision, saying that he had boycotted the on-court interview after heading to the quarters because of some anti-Serbian comments from the broadcaster and presenter of the first Grand Slam of the year, which had hurt him. Djokovic further slammed the broadcasters and expressed disappointment after resuming the interview with them.

“I would like to just clarify the reason why the interview was not conducted on the court, the post-match interview, like it’s a common, usual practice. Couple days ago the famous sports journalist (Tony Jones) who works for the official broadcaster, Channel 9 here in Australia, made a mockery of Serbian fans and also made insulting and offensive comments towards me. And since then, he chose not to issue any public apology. Neither did Channel 9,” Djokovic said in the post-match press conference as per Fox Sports.
