There are a lot of tennis stars who have gone on to have great careers after starting at a young age. The likes of Bjorn Borg and Boris Becker are some of those names who won major trophies in their teens. Even today we are getting players making professional debuts at a really young age already. These players have also gone on to win against some world-class players and make a name for themselves.

There is another player right now who has managed to make his professional debut at the age of 16. The name of the player is Darwin Blanch. The 6ft 3 player has had a really promising Junior career where he made it to 3 Grand Slam semi-finals last year. He also made it to multiple knockouts in several ITF tournaments. The youngster was also part of the Juan Carlos Ferrero academy where he was also a hitting partner for Carlos Alacaraz. The last ATP tournament we saw Blanch was in the Miami Open against Tomas Machac.

Blanch to play 1st round of Madrid Open against the king of clay

Looking at his achievements, Blanch made his way into the main draw of the upcoming Madrid Open one of the biggest ATP clay tournaments. Young American has also managed to get his first opponent other than the king of clay Rafael Nadal. This will be a big moment for Blanch to showcase his skills against one of the biggest legends of the game. This will also be his first introduction to the clay season as well which will be a great opportunity and challenge for any upcoming teenage tennis player.

Seeing Blanch already make some big moves at a really early age is something any tennis player can only dream of. He will still have a big game ahead of him against the 22-time grand slam winner. This is the moment that he will want to grasp with both hands and give the performance of his lifetime. The 16-year-old will be in the limelight against El Nino in a venue and surface to which he will still be new to. This will be a match which will be the biggest test for the teenager going into just his second ATP game.
