The Laver Cup is one of the major ATP-sanction events that is known to feature some of the best players in the world. This is a tournament which started 6 years ago in 2017 featuring Team Europe and Team World. Team Europe is led by Bjorn Borg while Team World is headed by John Mcenroe. These legends take a team full of champion players and compete against each other.
As usual, the event will be held in three days and this time will be played in Berlin. This is set to be another tournament which will be filled with the best current players in the. The three players from each team have already decided with Europe picking Carlos Alacaraz, Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev and Team World who had won the previous contest picking Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul. There are still three more players left to be picked in the competition.
Nadal to feature in the tournament
The Laver Cup normally picks top-ranking players in the event just like they did right now. However, Team Europe have still chosen the likes of Rafael Nadal who is no longer up in the rankings nowadays. It shouldn’t be surprising since Nadal is still considered one of the legends of the game and has been part of Team Europe’s triumphant run in the first three editions of the event. It will be great to see how El Nino will perform after missing the last season of the tournament.
Nadal might not be at his peak right now and has been struggling to stay fit in the matches. Though there is still a lot of time for this tournament and it is at least great to see him back after a long break in the game. Nadal will be considered one of the iconic players in this tournament who has been part of 3 Laver Cup-winning teams. We hope he can still show his great form in this tournament.
