Bu Yunchaokete and Zhang Shuai have been one of the surprise packages of the tournament so far and have beaten some top-ranked stars in the tournament. The two Chinese players have impressed us with their performances and it will be interesting to see how far they will go in the competition as they have made it to the playoffs.

The China Open is currently in the final stages with both the men's and women's singles players playing will be playing the playoffs. Though the top stars have performed well in this tournament it is the Chinese dark horses that have surprised us this season Bu Yunchaokete and Zhang Shuai, While Bu as wildcards will be playing in the semi-finals against Jannik Sinner Shuai will be playing one of her tough quarter-finals match against Paula Badosa at the Chinese capital.

Who are these Surprise packages?

These players might not be one high-ranking individuals but have made a huge impact in this tournament full of stars. Bu Yunchaokete is currently the Chinese number 3 player and is still early into his professional career, but the 22-year-old has already surprised us by beating the likes of Musetti and Andrey Rublev who are among the top-seeded players in the tournament to make his way into a semi-final match against Sinner. 

On the other hand, Zhang is a veteran who was not having a successful season but has finally broken her losing streak by winning 4 games on the Trott. The 35-year-old will now be looking to finally make an impact on her singles career and will be up against one of the toughest opponents she has faced in Paula Badosa.

These two players are currently looking really good and are very close to creating history in this tournament. Though they have some tough competition ahead of them, they are playing at home and will want to continue giving their nation some more great performances.
