'It all has to do with love........' - Stefanos Tsitsipas opens up on playing mixed doubles with his girlfriend Paula Badosa at French Open 2024

Tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas has been appearing in all three events at the ongoing French Open 2024. Notably, the star player qualified for the fourth round of the men's single event of the marquee event. However, he has yet to begin his quest for men's doubles and mixed doubles. The Greek player has been paired up with his young brother Petros in the men's double. On the other hand, he has been paired with his girlfriend, Paula Badosa, in the mixed doubles.

However, Tsitsipas when asked about his reason for participating in all three events. The star player revealed that his girlfriend Paula Badosa is the reason who pushed him to take part in the doubles fixture as well as the men's single event. The pair are set to face Ena Shibahara and Nathaniel Lammons in the first round of the mixed doubles.

"What's the reason with you playing the whole competition here?" Tsitsipas was asked.

"Well, it's all because of love. Yeah, it is if you think about it... On both sides. It all has to do with love and getting to combine love and tennis is quite exceptional," he responded.

Meanwhile, the Greek-born star recently faced Zhang Zhizhen in the third round of the French Open 2024 and comfortably defeated him by 6-3, 6-3, 6-1.

“It’s great to see myself in a position to get out there and play so effectively but also accurately at the same time. I feel like my shots were very precise. Wherever I was aiming, I was able to produce some really high-quality shots. I have been keeping an eye on him. I know exactly what kind of a profile player he is. He’s a very good fighter. When it comes to the battle, he will fight and he will not give up. This is something for sure that I do expect,” said Tsitsipas
