Former tennis star Samantha Stosur recently opened up about the two women she sees as ideal 2025 Australian Open finalists. The defending champion, Aryna Sabalenka, won the title in 2023 and 2024 after defeating Elena Rybakina and Zheng Qinwen, respectively. The world number one will be looking to mark her third straight win in the showpiece event, slated to take place in mid-January in Melbourne.

However, this time, the Belarus-born star will have other players who can be in contention to win the title. In addition to China's star players Qinwen Zheng and Elena, the world number two, Iga Swiatek, arrives hungry to get a better result in the Grand Slam, while Coco Gauff emerges as a recent champion of the WTA Finals. This showcases that they might pose a big challenge to Sabalenka this time, who will aim to defend her title.
