After the win, Sabalenka admitted it was a special victory that required her to overcome many challenges.

"This one felt different. It felt like I had to overcome a lot of things to get it. I knew that [because of] the hard work we put in, I deserved to have a Grand Slam title this season,” she said.

It was a disciplined and composed display from Sabalenka, who successfully defended her title. She said she felt proud of herself after the win.

"When I fell [to the court], it was because it means a lot to defend this title and to bring such great tennis," said Sabalenka. “To bring the fight and be able to handle my emotions the way I did in this final, it means a lot. I'm super proud right now of myself."

On the other side, Anisimova was emotional after the defeat and admitted she did not fight hard enough.

"I didn't fight hard enough for my dreams. With finals I have a lot of nerves, and it's something I'm trying to work on, but I wish I played more aggressive. I feel like if I fought harder, maybe I would have given myself more of a chance," she said with teary eyes.
