The Roland Garros is currently in the playoff stage and we have already seen some iconic matches in this tournament. This has been a tournament which has given us some great moments in tennis. The top stars of the WTA have also given us some great performances and have once again qualified for the playoffs of this major tournament.

The match today which everyone is looking forward to was between Elena Rybakina and Jasmine Paolini. Rybakina is no doubt one of the favourites of the tournament and has had a great Clay season so far. She was up against Jasmine Paolini who has been impressive this season, but was still up against one of the toughest opponents in this tournament. There was no doubt that the odds were in favour of the Kazakhstani.

Paolini shocks Rybakina

We have already seen some surprising results in the French Open and this match was a great example of this. The first set itself caused a bit of a worry for Rybakina as she lost the first set by a massive margin of 6-2. It was a sigh of relief for all the Rybakina as she took the next set winning 6 games to 4 against Jasmine Paolini. Unfortunately, that was all the good memory Rybakina could get from the match as she ended up losing the last and final set by a score of 6-4.

This was another major upset in the tournament which we never expected. This was one of the most disappointing performances from Rybakina. There were plenty of unforced errors from one of the best players in the world right now. However, we still have to give props to Paolini who played some great tennis in this game. She has made it to her first French Open semi-final and it is a great tournament that she will cherish and will look forward to continuing her great form in the upcoming matches. No one would have thought that the 28-year-old Italian would beat one of the best in the business.
