The tennis world is all set for the upcoming clay season featuring some great players. Right now the Monte Carlo Masters is just 2 days away from beginning. This ATP tournament will feature some of the best players in the world right now. This is the 117th edition of the iconic ATP tournament that everyone will look forward to. This will also show us the capability of these players going into the French Open next month.

The player who has been dominating the clay season his entire career is none other than Rafael Nadal. The 22-time grand slam winner has won the Monte Carlo Masters 11 times which is the most by any player. Nadal is regarded as the king of clay where he has dominated every opponent with his powerful forehand and topspin backhand shots. Even though he might not be at his peak, he is still one of the best players.

Nadal withdraws from Monte Carlo

There were some problems Nadal has been facing in the latest phase of his career, but there are some who believe that Nadal will be playing in the upcoming tournament. Unfortunately for them, El Nino has withdrawn from the tournament where his team has claimed that his body is not ready to play right now. This is a bad moment for all the Nadal fans and the former world number 1, who might have been looking to make a comeback this tournament.

All the fans can do is hope for Nadal's speedy recovery which can bring him back in the game. There might still be players like Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, who have been equally successful, but Nadal has given us some of the best and most iconic games on this surface. We would have liked the upcoming tournament to be the day Nadal finally comes back into the game, but still, all is not lost for the great Spaniard.
