Tennis sensation and world number two, Iga Swiatek, defeated Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinal thriller of the Qatar Open 2025 in Doha. The Polish star defeated the Kazakh star with a scoreline of 6-2, 7-5 to make it to the last four. The 23-year-old stalwart showcased her beast form in the opening set against the 2022 Wimbledon Champion. However, Rybakina tried extremely hard to stage her comeback in the second set but fell short, leading Swiatek to mark a straight-set win over her.

The quarter-final game between these two players has marked the eighth meeting with Swiatek and Rybakina, with the two players leading the head-to-head record by 4-4. Before this game, their recent game was at the United Cup 2025, where Swiatek led Poland to the semi-finals after defeating Rybakina.
Meanwhile, the 2024 Qatar Open Final saw Iga Swiatek secure her third straight title win with a stunning win over Rybakina in the final showdown. Surprisingly, Elena Rybakina suffered defeat in this marquee event and failed to exact her revenge for her previous loss. This win by Iga Swiatek makes her a strong contender to become the first woman in the century to win the fourth straight title in the same tournament.
