Even after having some of the disappointing performances in the last two tournaments, it is important for Novak Djokovic to perform well in the ongoing Monte Carlo Masters. Djokovic is so far one of the best performers in this tournament. The Serbian has been going through every opponent with ease in the matches he has played. It is safe to say that the current world number 1 and 24 grand slam winner is looking good to win his third title this season.

Novak Djokovic was set to play 25-year-old talented Australian Alex de Minaur in the quarter-finals of the tournament. The young and upcoming talent is known for his speed and agility with which he can cover the whole court with ease. He also had some earth-shattering performances in the tournament where one of them was beating 3-time grand slam winner Stan Wawrinka in the second round of the tournament. Minaur is also the world number 9 in the rankings which could make this a much more interesting game than it looks.

Djokovic goes through to Semi’s

Even though we have enjoyed the way Alex de Minaur has played so far it was always tough to beat a world number ranked player. Minaur still showed some of his skills in the first set, but in the end, it was Djokovic and his experience under pressure that got the better of the Aussie as he lost the first set 7-5. The second set was also going evenly, but it was Djoko who had the last laugh as he broke Minaur’s service and ended up winning the last and final set with a score of 6-4.

This was not a completely one-sided game as we still saw some great tennis from Minaur, but like everyone else, he had to bow down to the class of the 36-year-old Serbian legend. As for Djokovic he seems to have his eyes set on the 3rd Monte Carlo title and is only 2 wins away from doing that. He will be playing either Ugo Humbert or Casper Ruud in the semi-final which will be played tomorrow. This might be the tournament where Djoko might make a solid comeback this season.
